Currently the senior communications manager for Talent Acquisition at Sodexo, Trish has worked for the utility industry, healthcare, education and local government. Currently managing communications that aim to position Sodexo as an employer of choice, she coordinates internal communications, traditional media relations efforts, communications plans for various initiatives including the company’s contribution to the Student Branding blog, industry award applications and manages a bi-monthly e-newsletter that reaches a talent pool of more than 270,000 candidates. Over the years she’s written for many print and online publications, coordinated and developed web sites, managed media relations, coordinated special events and managed a host of day-to-day activities.
In early 2009, she became immersed in social media – developing corporate guidelines and implementation programs. She also started a Ning group specifically for those in the utility industry interested in social media. In the group’s first six months, membership grew to more than 120 members across the U.S., Canada and the U.K. Since leaving the utility industry, others have migrated the group to LinkedIn where the conversation continues. Additionally, Trish served as the chief blogger for the South Carolina Electric & Gas EnergyWise blog from its inception to the summer of 2010 and managed the company’s @SCEGNews and @SCEGStorm Twitter accounts.
From 2005-2010, Trish worked in the utility industry, initially for National Grid where she inspired and engaged nearly 9,000 employees in New York, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, in coordination with efforts to communicate with 11,000 employees in the U.K. Next, she managed external communications for South Carolina Electric & Gas, the principal subsidiary of SCANA Corp.
Prior to the utility industry, Trish developed the foundation for her career in local government where her love for online technology was born and she gained valuable crisis management experience each hurricane season.
